    General Information:

    River Gauge: Check Level

    One Day Race Format:

    • At least part of Saturday will available for full course practice runs.
    • The racers meeting will be at 8:30 AM, unless otherwise noted, on Sunday followed by the two runs in both session A then B.

    Additional Classes: Will be offered as required. Beginner classes will be offered at this race.

    Designation: The race will be the ACA Atlantic Division Open Canoe Slalom Championship.

    Course Set-Up: Help is needed all day Friday to set up the course.


    From the NY State Thruway, take Exit 19. and then go west about 25 miles on Rt. 28 to Phoenicia. Go past both right exits for Phoenicia, including the one with statue of an eagal, turn left onto the next road, Woodland Valley Road. Go across the Esopus Creek on the new bridge to the race site.

    Race Site Description:

    Camping at the race site is available courtesy of Town Tinker Tube Rental. Portable toilets will be provided. Camping is also available at: Woodland Valley State Park , (845) 688-7647; Sleepy Hollow Campgrounds, (845) 688-5471. Black Bear Camp Grounds & RV Park, (845) 688-7405. Always ask for “Paddlers Special”!

    Parking is available along High Street on the river side of the road starting near the bridge. Do not park with any tires on the pavement.

    Spectator access is available from the Woodland Valley Bridge over the upper course, (be careful of trafic on the bridge). Also spectator viewing area is available along the old RR bed above the lower course accessed from the southern end of the parking lot.
